Inspired by the Plugin House, I wanted to design a simple, adaptable accessory dwelling unit (ADU) that would help people out in a crisis. It is fully modular, compact, yet homey. While designing the floorplan for the default form, I focused on fulfilling the needs of someone who has lost their main home. When you enter the ADU, you can see everything that you own with an open kitchen connected to the living room and doors to each bedroom clearly visible. I prioritized windows on the south side, bringing in natural sunlight and warming up the home.
